Super Power Beat Down – a brilliant new web series for geeks
Bat in the Sun, an independent self contained film and music production company has released the first episode of their new web series; Super Power Beat Down. The concept of the SPBD web series is to take two super powered legends and make them battle! Every month the creators will release a new episode, where viewers will be able to vote to determine the winner.
The show is hosted by Marisha Ray, with two debaters, Damian Beurer and Andy Liegl. Together they battle with their sci-fi/fantasy knowledge and comic wit to see who they think the winner will be. In addition, experts from specific fields will guest star and contribute valuable information.
The first episode of the new web series Super Power Beat Down pits two classic screen-used Batmobiles against one another in a street race.
It’s the 1960s TV Batmobile — sparkly gold accents and all — versus the 1989 Tim Burton version. One’s got more horses, but the other has rocket boosters in back.
I don’t want to spoil the ending, but it comes down to a photo finish.
The first episode is really promising and well done, but with 48 hours of video uploaded to Youtube every minute it is difficult to gain some market share, especially for a monthly series. Bat in the Sun did think about that and introduces a brilliant cliffhanger-tactic alongside.
No catchy preview of the next episode, but host Marisha Ray is the cliffhanger and she sure knows how to make you want to see the end of the next episode. Very very clever!
Brilliant! The next Super Power Beat Down, due out April 21st, pits Gandalf against Darth Vader. Can’t wait how that battle ends.
You’ve got just a little less than a month to place your bets. Gandalf or Darth Vader?
